Mark Udall for Senate
Mark Udall was first elected to Colorado's 2nd Congressional District in 1998, and Blackrock joined his team for his successful 2008 run for Senate. The race was among the most hotly contested of 2008.
Mark Udall for Colorado hired Blackrock to buttress the campaign's ambitious fundraising operation and increase its online presence. Over the course of the race, Blackrock increased the campaign's email list by 600% and helped the campaign raise over $1 million online. Blackrock also mobilized the campaign's growing online community to support Udall's legislative priorities on issues ranging from Iran to the environment.
In November 2007, Blackrock coordinated meetings between Congressman Udall and prominent bloggers in San Francisco. The firm also planned a fundraiser with netroots activists, an event that generated excitement about then-Rep. Udall's Senate candidacy within the progressive political blogosphere.
