Barbara Boxer's PAC for a Change
Senator Boxer formed PAC for a Change to stand up to right-wing extremists in Congress and their radical agenda for our country. The PAC’s website serves as a clearinghouse for bringing attention to important national issues and coordinating support for progressive candidates.
Blackrock manages PAC for a Change’s online operations, including Boxer’s email communications, email list growth, online advocacy, online fundraising, and netroots outreach.
PAC for a Change made major headway in January of 2005, when Boxer called for supporters to sign a petition in support of asking Condoleeza Rice tough questions during her confirmation hearings to be Secretary of State. The petition received 100,000 signatures and tripled the size of Boxer’s email list. The site has continued its rapid growth through other campaigns, such as an advocacy campaign aimed at denying John Bolton’s nomination to be U.N. Ambassador.
In the 2006 election cycle, Pac for a Change generated over $1 million in contributions to Democratic campaigns. With Democrats now in the majority in Congress and Sen. Boxer taking over the chairmanship of the Environment and Public Works committee, Blackrock has helped PAC for a Change continue to engage its online constituency though innovative programs such as an online poll of the community to determine what it wants the top environmental priorities to be for the committee.
